ACC Premier League Cricket: Nepal beat Bahrain by seven wickets

KATHMANDU:- Nepal have made a winning start to the ACC Premier League cricket tournament, defeating Bahrain by seven wickets in Bangi, Malaysia.

Chasing a target of 88 runs, Nepal reached 91 for three in 21 overs.

Arjun Kumal top-scored for Nepal with an unbeaten 36 off 58 balls, including five fours. Rohit Kumar Paudel remained unbeaten on 19, while Asif Sheikh scored 18 and Dev Khanal made 10.

Earlier, Bahrain were bowled out for 87 in 36.2 overs after being put into bat.

Sandeep Lamichhane was Nepal’s standout bowler, taking five wickets. Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi claimed three wickets, while Karan KC took two.

Fiaz Ahmed top-scored for Bahrain with 15 runs, while Muhammad Wasim made 13.

Nepal will play their second match against hosts Malaysia on September 3.
