Death toll from Ilam landslide reaches 37

ILAM:- The death toll from last night’s landslide due to continuous rain has reached 37 in Ilam.

According to the latest report, with the recovery of the bodies of three previously missing persons, the number of casualties has reached 37, said Eknarayan Koirala, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office.

Similarly, Superintendent of Police Koirala stated that 48-year-old Mahendra Limbu from Ilam Municipality-6 went missing in a landslide and a search for him is ongoing.

He added that the work of collecting details of the damage is ongoing. “The process of receiving details of the damage from various places is continuing. The roads are blocked, and there are problems with electricity and the internet, making it somewhat difficult, but we are working on it,” SP Koirala said. (RSS)
