Lhende stream flood: Vehicles swept away, hydropower damaged

KATHMANDU:- Nearly eight electric vehicles at a charging station of Timure, Rasuwa district were swept away by the flooded Lhende stream at Nepal-China order last night. 

The torrential rainfall occurred upstream- in Chinese side- flooded the stream that damaged the yard of Customs Office, Rasuwa, according to the Armed Police Force (APF). Nine loaded containers were swept away by the flood.

The Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Dam also received damages. Even the Meteripul, a bridge connecting Nepal with China was destroyed by the flooded Lhende stream last night.

A 21-member team of APF led by assistant inspector Rabindra Dahal was mobilized for the incident site, according to Deputy Superintendent of APF, Shailendra Thapa. 

The APF’s team mobilized for the rescue is yet to reach the incident site as the Bhotekoshi River flood was still raging.  

The Syaphrubenshi-Rasuwagdhi section of Pasang Lhamu Highway is damaged at Gosaikunda rural municipality-2 of Rasuwa, thereby affecting the transportation of rescue equipment and forces.

Meanwhile, the local media persons have reported live the Nepali Army helicopter rescuing safely the people trapped by the flooded Trishuli River in Nuwakot. (RSS)
