Two persons rescued alive from Trishuli 3A tunnel

KATHMANDU:- Two persons have been rescued alive from the tunnel of Trishuli III A hydro power project.

They were trapped in it since the Bhotekoshi flash flood on August 26.

The two rescued are Sanjay Sah, mechanical foreman, and Kabir Maharjan, mechanical supervisor, of the project.

As many others are believed to be trapped inside the tunnel, search and rescue operation is going on.

Raja Ram Basnet, Nepali Army spokesperson, said that Maharjan has just been flown to Kathmandu for treatment while Sah is undergoing treatment at Trishuli based hospital.
