Death toll in Rasuwa floods hits 389

KATHMANDU:- The death toll from the floods and landslides in Rasuwa has risen to 389.

According to Nepal Police, the bodies recovered so far include 17 in Rasuwa, 28 in Nuwakot, 33 in Dhading, 137 in Chitwan, 32 in Gorkha, 28 in Tanahun, 87 in Nawalparasi East and 27 in Nawalparasi West.

Meanwhile, 466 people have been injured and rescued. According to the latest details, 28 police personnel remain out of contact.

Following the extensive loss of life and property across several districts, efforts are being intensified to make search, rescue and relief operations more effective. Search and rescue operations have also been stepped up in the flood- and landslide-affected areas.

According to the latest update, 4 thousand 348 police personnel have so far been mobilised for the response.
