UTSA Student Pradip Dammaiguda committed suicide due to mental stress
SAN ANTONIO:- Pradeep Dammaguda, a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio, has died by suicide. He had arrived in the United States from Hyderabad in 2024 for higher education. Reports indicate that he took his own life due to mental stress and the inability to secure a job.
He had come to the U.S. in 2024 to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
According to his family, he had been struggling to find a job for about four months and was under significant stress. News of his death was received on August 21.
As stated in the ‘GoFundMe’ campaign launched by his sister to repatriate his body to India, Pradeep had faced various health issues since childhood.
Remembering her brother, Deepti writes, “For years, Deepu’s dedication to his health and fitness inspired those around him. Through discipline, hard work, and countless hours spent at the gym, he transformed himself and demonstrated the power of determination and consistency. He will always be remembered for his warmth, strength, and positive energy.”
The ‘GoFundMe’ campaign launched by Deepti aims to raise $35,000 to cover the costs of transporting Pradeep’s mortal remains to India and conducting his funeral rites.
As of Tuesday morning, 821 people have contributed to the fundraiser, and $28,602 has been raised.
