Possibility of rain accompanied by lightning in hilly regions of Far west, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces

KATHMANDU:- The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon low-pressure trough is positioned slightly north of its average location over the western region of Nepal and near its average position over the eastern region.

As a result, the weather is mostly cloudy in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. It is generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while partly cloudy in Madhesh Province. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places within Lumbini Province and in a few locations across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Partly cloudy skies are expected in Madhesh Province and the Terai regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places across the country’s mountainous regions.

Additionally, there is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in many places across the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in some places across the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall in some places across the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two locations within the Terai areas of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Heavy rainfall is likely in one or two places across the hilly regions of Karnali Province, as well as in the hilly and Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, the mountainous and hilly regions of the country will be generally cloudy, while the Terai region will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in a few places across the mountainous and hilly regions, and in one or two places in the Terai region.
