‘Why do we criticize Gagan Thapa? There is no need to criticize him at all—right?’
KATHMANDU:- Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has urged party cadres not to give undue importance to party leaders by criticizing them.
Addressing a program organized by the Nepali Congress Sindhupalchok-Kathmandu chapter in Kathmandu on Monday, leader Koirala—alluding to General Secretary Gagan Thapa—stated that remaining silent is preferable to engaging in verbal attacks.
Arguing that one cannot appear beautiful by making others look ugly, he stated that the Congress is a party with a magnificent and glorious history. Addressing the criticism that the Nepali Congress is a “party of old people,” Koirala remarked that the future belongs to the youth and emphasized the need to prepare them for leadership.
He said, “Why do we criticize Gagan Thapa? There is no need to criticize him at all—right? Criticizing him only gives him more importance. So, why do you do it? Say absolutely nothing. That is the greatest insult of all.”
