Heavy rain predicted in some provinces today

KATHMANDU:- Monsoon winds have currently affected the entire country, and the monsoon trough is presently located near its average position, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Generally cloudy conditions are expected throughout the country today, with a chance of light to moderate rain and snowfall at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions, according to the Division’s weather bulletin.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the Tarai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places in Madhesh Province and the Tarai region of Sudurpashchim Province.

Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the Hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

The Division has suggested all to remain updated on the latest information about weather and apply precautions in view of risks of debris flow, flooding, landslide and soil erosion that could be caused following the heavy rain.
