Nepal’s Eight highways remain blocked due to landslides

KATHMANDU:- Eight different highways in the country remain blocked for traffic due to landslides triggered by incessant rains taking place since the past few days in various parts of the country.

According to a press release issued by Nepal Police Headquarters today, the Kavrepalanchok- Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi (BP Highway) route is closed for traffic.

Likewise, due to landslides in Pangdur, Takurche and Bhalu Khola in Bhattedanda of Bagmati Rural Municipality-3 of Lalitpur on Monday morning, traffic on the Kanti highway is completely blocked.

The Mechi Highway also remains completely blocked.

Similarly, the Kaligandaki Corridor remains blocked for traffic. The road was blocked due to landslides in Patukhola on the Kaligandaki Corridor road section at Purtighat in Kaligandaki-4, Gulmi on Monday.

According to the statement, the Mid-Hill Highway has been completely blocked due to landslides.

The Ridi-Bami road has been shut due to overflowing of the Giru Khola on the road section at Tallo Phat in Musikot-5, Gulmi.
