Seven youths stranded in middle of Banganga rescued safely

KAPILVASTU:- Seven youths stranded in the middle of the Banganga stream at Balpur, Banganga Municipality-8, have been rescued safely.

A joint rescue team of security forces comprised of Nepali Police, Armed Police Force and Nepali Army rescued the youths that got stranded in the middle of the stream as the water level went up suddenly while they were swimming today afternoon, said Ripendra Kumar Singh, DSP at the Kapilvastu Police Office.

It took nearly two hours for the joint team to rescue the youths.

The rescue members jumped into the stream with rope, rubber boat and other necessary rescue equipment for the rescue operation while a crane was also kept stand by at the site in case of possible risks and need.

Water level and flow in the stream is said to have gone up due to heavy rainfall in Arghakhanchi district, the upper reach of the stream.
