TEL AVIV:- A high-level delegation of municipal leaders from Nepal toured the national headquarters and specialized facilities of Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical and blood service organization, as part of the MUNI Expo 2026 international conference.
The Nepali delegation featured prominent local government heads, including Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhana Raj Acharya, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol, and Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah Sudi. Kathmandu Metropolitan City Spokesperson Nabin Manandhar and Ward 3 Chairperson Prem Thapa also joined the delegation during the multi-facility tour in Ramla and Jerusalem.
Organized jointly by MDA and the Public Diplomacy Division of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit allowed the delegates to inspect MDA’s newly established National Blood Services Center, the National Emergency Dispatch Center, the National Human Milk Bank, and the MDA Paramedic School. The mayors were briefed on Israel’s disaster management protocols and demonstrated specialized emergency response vehicles and medical technologies utilized during cross-sector routine and crisis operations.
MDA Director General Eli Bin stated that the engagement, which also hosted municipal leaders from Panama and Chile, aimed to share extensive operational knowledge and explore future bilateral cooperation in emergency medical infrastructure. The site visits concluded the formal itinerary of MUNI Expo 2026, Israel’s primary municipal innovation exhibition, which concluded its two-day session on June 24.
