100 billion(USD) economy possible in 10 years: Upendra Mahato

KATHMANDU:- Founding president of Non-Residential Nepali Association (NRNA) Upendra Mahato said that economy of Nepal can to expended to USD 100 billion in ten years.

Addressing inauguration session of 12th NRN global conference unity conclave held in Kathmandu on Saturday, he said that Nepalis are intellectually, economically, physically and psychologically capable for moving forward for prosperity of country.

He also added that Nepal’s economy nearly comprised of USD 100 billion if external and internal economy is taken together.

He informed that around 8 million Nepalis are residing out of the country and their remittance account around USD 20 billion.

He said that, “Economy of Nepalis working outside the country is almost equivalent to economy formed by the residents of inside the country. It is not impossible to expand economy to USD 100 billion in ten years”.

He further added that untill the investment of Nepalis living outside the country and within the country is robust it will be challenging to attract the foreign investment.
