Voting for RSP central committee members concludes at general convention

CHITWAN:-Voting for the election of central committee members at the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has concluded.

According to the party’s Election Commission, polling began at midnight and ended at 12:30 pm. Around 3,950 votes were cast during the election process, said Chitwan district president Minimadhav Khanal.

The commission said results are expected within two hours, as electronic voting machines were used.

With the completion of voting for 99 central committee positions, the convention will move to the next phase of the election process. Party spokesperson Manish Jha said the newly elected central committee members will vote to elect the party’s office bearers.

The RSP’s first national convention has been underway in Chitwan since June 21.
