You’re invited, Nepal Day Parade 2026 to be held in San Francisco on Sunday

SAN FANSISCO:-  Sunday, May 10, 2026, is Mother’s Day. And Nepalis in California are preparing to walk on this foreign land and road, finding their identity with Nepali songs, music, culture, and originality through participation in the Nepal Day Parade 2026, considering “the mother who gave birth and the homeland dearer than heaven.”

Kul Prasad Dhakal ‘KP’, President of the California Chapter of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, NRNA), who is busy with the final preparations for the Nepal Day Parade, is anticipating the gathering of thousands of Nepalis, imagining a mesmerizing sight of a procession of national flags of the motherland Nepal, decorated in a red and blue triangular pattern, and a series of banners reading “Nepal is the country of Buddha.”

“I feel proud to be a Nepali American,” said Tilak Rana, Vice President of the California chapter of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, (NRNA). “Every caste, language, religion, and culture of Nepal is unique, so we decided to celebrate together and connect with each other through the Nepal Day Parade. That’s the main idea behind organizing and continuing the Nepal Day Parade.”

The Himalayan country, located about 8,000 miles far from San Francisco, celebrates festivals year-round. While Nepal is currently in the midst of a busy season of planting and harvesting, the Nepal Day Parade participants are eager to march to Nepali music, culture and dance as the chilly weather continues in San Francisco.

“The Nepali population is growing in California,” said NRNA President KP Dhakal, the main organizer of the parade. He said Nepalis in California want to show their Nepali culture and identity to the city where they live.”

Vice President Tilak Rana says, “March in the Nepal Day Parade and identify yourself with Nepal. “When you see the Nepali community come together in the parade and help each other, it makes me happy to organize the parade.”

Organizer KP Dhakal says, “The Nepal Day Parade will be a confluence of the diverse cultures of the Newar, Tamang, Sherpa, Magar, Rai, Limbu, Gurung, and Magar communities living in California.”

The parade, organized by the California Chapter of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, (NRNA), is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. It will begin at San Francisco City Hall and end at the building.

According to organizer Dhakal, San Francisco City officials will also participate in the Nepal Day Parade and You are also cordially invited to the Nepal Day Parade.
