Water levels return to normalcy in flooded Bhotekoshi
RASUWA:- The recent flooding of the Bhotekoshi has left those residing along the riverbanks in a state of fear once again.
The chair of Gosainkund Rural Municipality reported that residents in lower regions, including Rasuwa and Nuwakot, are experiencing heightened anxiety following the frightening flood that occurred this morning.
The flood hit at approximately 3:30 am with a deafening roar, causing residents of Dhunche, who live above the riverbank, to seek shelter in the upper hospital area and the local playground.
As the water levels begin to recede, locals are cautiously returning to their homes. Drup Prasad Adhikari, the Assistant Chief District Officer and Information Officer of the District Administration Office in Rasuwa, stated that upon receiving reports of the flood, they contacted the neighboring district of Nuwakot to ensure that appropriate precautions were being taken.
Meanwhile, a helicopter from the Nepali army, which is stationed in Dhunche for emergencies, has been dispatched to evaluate the situation in the flood-affected upper river regions, although information regarding the extent of the damage is still awaited. RSS
