Valley Public and Ferryland advance to finals of inter-school basketball tournament
KATHMANDU:- Valley Public and Fairyland advanced to the senior girls’ final of the 20th Greenland Inter-School Basketball Tournament on Friday.
Valley Public defeated Newton 35–21, with Drishya Gurung scoring 16 points for the team. Fairyland beat Tejaswi Academy 34–20, with Khushbu Magar scoring 10 points.
Newton and Marvelous have secured their spots in the title clash for the Senior Boys’ category of the tournament currently underway at the court of the organizers, Greenland, in Dhapasi.
Newton defeated Valley Public 80–71, with Unique Karki scoring a game-high 35 points for the team. Meanwhile, Marvelous easily overcame the challenge posed by Paramount Academy, winning 63–30; Sinep Shahi contributed 16 points for Marvelous.
Angels Heart and JB School will face off for the Junior Boys’ title. Angels Heart secured a hard-fought 21–20 victory over SEB, with Saurav Shrestha scoring 11 points. Meanwhile, JB defeated Laligurans National Academy 22–13, with Rupesh Tamang contributing 12 points.
