Tripartite meeting of Govt, Gen Z and political parties held at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU:- A tripartite discussion among the political parties, the Gen Z representatives and the government has started at the official residence of the Prime Minister, Baluwatar.

In the meeting called by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, participating are the office bearers of the political parties that were represented in the erstwhile House of Representatives (HoR).

Likewise, in the first ever tripartite meeting aimed at creating a conducive environment for HoR election, participating from the government side are Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, chief advisor to the PM Ajay Bhadra Khanal.

According to Ram Bahadur Rawal, the press coordinator of PM Karki, there are 13 representatives of Gen Z participating in the discussion.

The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has said that the agenda includes discussions on creating an overall environment for the elections scheduled for March 5, 2026, forging political understanding, and other related matters.

The government has been holding series of talks and discussions with the concerned parties regarding the successful conduction of the House of Representatives election on the announced date.

Earlier, discussions were held on October 21 between the government and political parties at the invitation of Prime Minister Karki. Similarly, discussions have taken place between Prime Minister Karki and the Gen-Z group in the presence of President Ramchandra Paudel in that connection.

Representatives from the Gen Z participating in the meeting are Monika Niraula, Rakshya Bam, Purushottam Yadav, Samana Yadav, Khemraj Saud, Uparjan Chamling, Bhojbikram Thapa, Miraj Dhunganga, Bibek Dahal, Jems Karki, Rehanraj Dangol, Amit Khanal and Rajan Ranamagar.

From the political parties are Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat of Nepali Congress, Mahesh Bartaula and Chhitij Thebe from CPN (UML), Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Barsha Man Pun and Madhav Sapkota from CPN (Maoist Center). Similarly, Swarnima Wagle and Nisha Dangi from Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rajendra Gurung and Mohan Shrestha from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rajendra Pande and Prakash Jwala from CPN (Unified Socialist) are also in the meeting.
