Talks team formed to address loan sharking issues
KATHMANDU:- The government has formed a task team under the coordination of the secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Pushkar Sapkota, to address the demands of people suffering from loan sharking.
The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday formed the talks team having joint secretaries from the Finance Ministry, the Home Ministry, the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, according to Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Bikram Timilsina. Nepal Rastra Bank has been approved to mint the coins of Rs one and two denominations in a new design.
Minister Dr Timilsina further shared that the government decided to accept the grant of 1.81 million US dollars to be provided by the Korean government for the establishment of the Nepal law information pilot system.
The related ministry would be given authority to decide, as per existing law, on clearing trees and infrastructures in the areas falling under the project construction site.
The Cabinet meeting also endorsed the organisation and management survey and quotas of various ministries; Policy and Research Institute Development Committee (formation) (first amendment) Order, 2083 and the provision on management of employees working on contract, according to Minister Timilsina.
