KATHMANDU:-  Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that listening to the voice of the people is the soul of democracy.

Stating that the democratic system is a system where voices are heard, she said that Constitution Day is also a day to evaluate the Federal Democratic Republicanism.

Recalling that the Constitution of Nepal, which was passed and implemented by the Constituent Assembly on September 20, 2015 (Ashoj 3, 2072 B.S), is the result of the sacrifice, struggle, and movement of the Nepali people, she said that its protection and successful implementation is the common responsibility of all Nepali.

Prime Minister Karki explained the recent Gen Z movement as a result of the dissatisfaction and expectations of the younger generation, clarifying that the government is committed to listening to and addressing the voices of the people, as democracy is a system of dialogue and finding solutions.

She clarified that she had become the Prime Minister for interim management and said to hold elections to the House of Representatives within six months and hand over responsibility to the elected government.

On the occasion of Constitution Day, she called on everyone to pay tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in the people’s movement and the current movement, to seek the speedy recovery of the injured, and to join hands in the reconstruction of the damage.
