Show Cause order issued in writ petition against Chief Minister Thapa’s appointment

KATHMANDU:- The High Court Patan has issued a show cause notice in a writ petition filed against the appointment of Bagmati Province Chief Minister Kiran Thapa Magar.

A single bench of Justice Babita Upreti issued the show cause order in the name of the defendants in two separate writ petitions filed against the Chief Minister’s appointment in the Hetauda bench of the High Court.

The writ petitions were filed separately by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Kumari Tamang and Advocate Mohan Prasad Dhakal, according to Badri Prasad Lamichhane, Deputy Registrar of the Hetauda bench.

The court has asked the defendants to submit a written response within 15 days, explaining the basis, evidence and reasons on whether the order as requested by the petitioner should be issued, shared Sub-Registrar Lamichhane.

The court has summoned both the parties for discussion on the matter on August 26. (RSS)
