Rain and Snowfall Likely in Mountain Areas today

KATHMANDU:- The Weather Forecasting Division has said that the country is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds, resulting in changing weather conditions across several regions.

According to the Division, hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are generally cloudy, while most parts of the Terai are experiencing clear weather. Other hilly regions have partly cloudy conditions.

This afternoon, cloudy weather is expected in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province and other high-altitude regions across the country. Light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely in some mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Strong winds may also occur in some parts of the Terai in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy, while hilly areas will see partly cloudy conditions and the Terai is expected to remain mostly clear. Light rain or snowfall with thunderstorms is also possible in a few mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

The Division has urged residents and transport operators in affected areas to remain cautious and take necessary safety precautions.
