Prithvi Highway obstructed due to a landslide at Seratar
TANAHUN:- Traffic on the Prithvi Highway has been completely obstructed following a dry landslide at Seratar in Shuklagandaki Municipality-7, Tanahun. Transportation on both sides of the highway came to a halt after the landslide suddenly descended from a point approximately 30 meters above the road around 5:00 PM on Saturday.
Upon receiving news of the landslide, a 15-member police team led by Police Inspector Dhan Narayan Shrestha from the Area Police Office, Belchautara, was immediately deployed to the scene.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dwarika Prasad Ghimire, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Tanahun, work to clear the landslide is currently underway with urgency, utilizing a police team and two JCBs.
“Continuous efforts are underway, with the assistance of police and JCBs, to clear the landslide and restore traffic on the highway,” said Ghimire. Due to the road obstruction, vehicles and passengers traveling along the Prithvi Highway are stranded mid-journey. Police stated that they are working to clear the landslide and resume traffic flow as quickly as possible.
