Possibility of rain in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces

KATHMANDU:- Westerly winds are prevailing across the entire territories of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and the western parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, while the entire territories of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces—as well as the remaining parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces—are experiencing the influence of monsoon winds alongside a partial influence of westerly winds.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that, due to this influence, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. The remaining areas are partly cloudy. Moderate rainfall is occurring at a few places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at one or two locations in Koshi Province.

This afternoon, the weather across the country will be generally cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in a few places within the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is also likely in some places across the country’s hilly regions and in a few places in the Terai region.

Tonight, the mountainous and hilly regions of the country will be generally cloudy. The Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will be generally cloudy, while the remaining Terai areas will experience partial cloudiness. There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions. Additionally, there is a chance of rain—ranging from light to moderate—accompanied by lightning in a few places across the hilly regions.

The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in a few places across the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two places across the Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as Madhesh Province.
