Possibility of heavy rain in hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces
KATHMANDU:- The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently experiencing the partial influence of both monsoon winds and westerly winds. The monsoon trough is situated south of its normal position.
As a result, the weather is generally cloudy in the Himalayan and hilly regions—including Lumbini Province—while the remaining Terai regions are partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is occurring in a few places in Bagmati Province and in one or two locations across Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
This afternoon, skies will be generally cloudy over the country’s mountainous and hilly regions, while the Terai regions will see partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning in some places across the mountainous and hilly regions. Moderate rain with lightning is also possible in one or two places in the Terai regions. Heavy rain is likely in one or two places within the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, the weather will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country, while the Terai regions will experience partial cloudiness. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in a few places across the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
