Next five year will be golden period of change: NC president Thapa

SURKHET:- Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has announced that the next five years will be developed as golden period of the change in country.

Addressing the mass assembly organized by the Nepali Congress Karnali Province Committee in Surkhet today, president Thapa said that Nepali Congress will lead to bring change in the nation making the five year period between 2026 to 2031 as base period for change.

He said, “The election of March 5 is an opportunity to bring change in the country. Congress will never let opportunity to go in vain”.

Saying that the Gen Z movement of September 8 and 9 should not be forgotten, he made it clear that the NC supported the current government for bringing the constitution on track through election.

He said the NC will work in such a way in the next five years that the Nepalis will get jobs in the home country and no one will have to spend hefty amount for treatment.

President Thapa viewed that the frequent changes of ruling coalition and governments in the past failed to speed up development and address people’s aspirations.

He highlighted on the need to amend laws when necessary for ensuring development of provinces such as Karnali and Madhes which were left behind.

“Karnali has adequate potential for tourism, herbs and water resources. However, there has been lack of sufficient budget and serious projects,” said NC president Thapa, vowing to overcome all such challenges for the development of Karnali.
