Nepal Medical Council scraps license of 19 more doctors

KATHMANDU:- Nepal Medical Council has scrapped the license of 19 more doctors, reasoning they had renounced Nepali citizenship and become foreign nationals, according to NMC Registrar Dr Satish Kumar Dev.

Earlier, NMC had terminated the license of 17 doctors over the same case. Their names have been removed even from the registration book, he added.

NMC’s move came in line with NCM Act, 2020; Regulation, 2024; and Citizenship Act, 2063. Those facing action are Dr Sumindra Pun, Dr Shailesh Kumar Jaiswal, Dr Bhupesh Khadka, Dr Arati Ranabhat, Dr Ramesh Raj Pahari, Dr Sanjok Ghale, Dr Rishiraj Baral, Dr Prabhu Pande, Dr Tripti Maharjan and Dr Srijana Shrestha.

The list goes further- Dr Sunita Bista, Dr Dipa Malla, Dr Saurav GC, Dr Jenisha Shrestha, Dr Pravas Regmi, Dr Dipika Gyawali, Dr Hemu Chaurasiya, Dr Samikshya Sharma and Dr Manorama Pande.

The doctors were found giving up Nepali citizenship and taking citizenships of Britain, Canada, US, New Zealand, Germany, Australia and India.
