Nepal Govt Shuts Down Online Betting Apps and Websites

KATHMANDU:- The government has taken action to shut down online betting applications and related websites, citing concerns over their harmful impact.

Following a directive from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to close such platforms within 24 hours, the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) blocked the apps and websites in coordination with internet service providers.

The decision was made during a meeting led by Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr Bikram Timilsina, along with ministry officials, which instructed the NTA to take immediate action.
