Nepal Government recommends Ambassadors to 13 countries
KATHMANDU:- The government has nominated ambassadors for various 13 countries, including India and China.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday selected ambassadors for 13 countries and decided to recommend their names before the Parliamentary Hearing Committee to forward appointment process, according to spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sashmit Pokharel.
The ambassadorial nominees are Dr Nischal Nath Pande for India, Dr Kalyan Raj Sharma for China and Chiran Jung Thapa for the USA.
Similarly, Gaurav Shumser JB Rana has been recommended ambassador for the United Kingdom, Sharu Joshi for Germany, Suresh Kumar Karna for Israel, Pratpti Sherchan for Spain and Jigyan Kumar Thapa for Japan.
Dr Padmakshi Rana is nominated as an ambassador to Oman, Chudamani Kharel to Malaysia, Prof Dr Sangam Shrestha to Republic of Korea, Dr Manchala Jha to Sri Lanka and Giri Bahadur Sunar to Saudi Arabia, the spokesperson added.
The government promoted joint secretary Rudra Singh Tamang to the post of secretary. Similarly, Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha has been appointed an executive director at Nepal Electricity Authority.
The Cabinet decisions further included endorsement of Nepal Citizenship (5th amendment) Regulation, 2083 and amendment to Nepal Government (work division) Regulation, 2083. With the amendment of work division, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, which is currently under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment, will now onwards be working under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
