Nine central members nominated in RSP, Jagdish Kharel as spokesperson
KATHMANDU:- The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has nominated nine individuals as members of its Central Committee.
A meeting of the party’s Central Committee held today nominated Sunil Lamsal, Sudhan Gurung, Pratibha Rawal, Bhupdev Shah, Purushottam Suprabhat Yadav, Dr. Manohar Pradhan, Basumaya Tamang, Surendra Chaudhary, and Dr. Bhakta Bahadur Rai as central members.
The meeting has also assigned various party office-bearer and departmental responsibilities. General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya informed that Purushottam Suprabhat Yadav has been nominated as Joint General Secretary, Dr. Manohar Pradhan as Treasurer, Basumaya Tamang as Joint Treasurer, Jagadish Kharel (Lalitpur) as Spokesperson, and Dr. Namita Yadav and Surendra Chaudhary as Joint Spokespersons.
According to him, Ganesh Parajuli, Shishir Khanal, Birajbhakta Shrestha, Purushottam Suprabhat Yadav, Dr. Manohar Pradhan, Kabindra Burlakoti, Jagadish Kharel (Lalitpur), Lima Adhikari Acharya, Deepakraj Bohara, Samiksha Baskota, Shiva Nepali, Indira Rana Magar, and Manish Jha have been nominated as members of the party secretariat.
Regarding departmental responsibilities, Pramod Neupane has been assigned as the Head of the Organization Department; Shishir Khanal as the Head of the International Relations Department; Bijay Jairu as the Head of the Public Service and Public Grievance Management Department; Dr. Toshima Karki as the Head of the Public Health Department; Nisha Dangi as the Head of the Infrastructure Department; and Lima Adhikari Acharya as the Head of the Finance Department. Kamal Subedi has been appointed as the Deputy Head of the Training Department.
The RSP has decided to approve the ‘Candidate Selection Framework–2083’—prepared under the coordination of General Secretary Acharya for the upcoming local elections—after incorporating suggestions received during the meeting.
The meeting also decided to invite nominations from Central Committee members and House of Representatives members interested in serving on the Central Candidate Selection Committee for the local elections.
A decision has been made to form an 11-member committee, coordinated by General Secretary Acharya, to draft a document regarding the ‘Right to Recall.’
Joint General Secretary Nisha Dangi will coordinate the mobilization of Central Committee members and House of Representatives members across 460 rural municipalities to prepare for the local elections and conduct orientation programs on topics such as the candidate selection framework.
General Secretary Acharya informed that the meeting also decided to publish a monthly digital magazine named ‘Swatantra’ starting this coming Ashwin.
A decision was made to form a five-member committee, led by Joint General Secretary Hari Dhakal, to conduct an audit of the organization before commencing district and provincial conventions in Madhesh. The committee will comprise central committee members from provinces other than Madhesh.
According to the RSP’s statute, the central committee comprises 158 members: one Chairperson, 99 members elected by the national general convention, 51 nominated members, and seven provincial chairpersons serving as ex-officio central members.
