Nepal defeats Kyrgyzstan in CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali national volleyball team defeated Kyrgyzstan in the ongoing Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Volleyball Championship, which is being held in Kathmandu from Friday.

In the game played on Saturday at the covered hall of the National Sports Council in Tripureshwor, Nepal registered its first win by defeating Kyrgyzstan 3-0.

With today’s victory, chances are there for Nepal to enter the semifinals. Earlier, Nepal was defeated by India on Friday. In the match played on Saturday, Nepali player Sumitra Regmi was declared the ‘player of the match’.

Nepal has gathered four points from the two matches played so far and has remained in the second position, while Kyrgyzstan has managed three points. Nepal is scheduled to play against the Maldives on Sunday as part of the last game of Group A.

The Championship is being attended by players from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives and Kazakhstan.
