‘Nepal Day’ celebrated in New Jersey, USA, showcasing Nepali art and culture

NEW JERSEY:- Nepal Day program has been completed with grandeur in New Jersey, USA, with Nepali cultural tableaus, musical instruments and dances.

Nepal Day New Jersey organized the program in Fairlawn City on Saturday, which was attended by a significant number of Nepalis and Nepali-Americans from New Jersey and New York. The program, organized in collaboration with the Nepali Consulate General in New York and the Non-Resident Nepali Association in America, featured original and traditional Nepali dances.

The event was hosted by Nepali Consul General Dadhiram Bhandari and was attended by Fairlane City Mayor Cristina Cutrone and Deputy Mayor Josh Reiniz. The event was decorated with Nepali and American flags and the enthusiasm of the participants dressed in traditional costumes made the event very interesting. The heads and representatives of various organizations delivered speeches at the event.

Sanjeev Shrestha, convener of Nepal Day New Jersey, informed that the program is being organized to pass on Nepali language, culture and traditions and strengthen the presence of Nepalis. He claimed that such a program will increase social unity and harmony along with responsibility towards the motherland, preservation of Nepali art and culture.
Nepali traditional food, traditional costumes and informational materials were exhibited and distributed at the event venue.

Chairman Rajendra Shrestha informed that the Nepal Day program, which was started last year, will be held every year. Stating that this program will be further refined in the coming days and made more participatory, Chairman Shrestha said that everyone should fulfill their love and responsibility towards Nepal from their respective places.

In the second phase of the program, artists James Pradhan and Krishna Kafle gave a special musical performance.
