Nepal ‘A’ victorious in match against Australian Capital Territory
KATHMANDU:- Nepal ‘A’ has emerged victorious against the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) in a match under the ongoing Top End T20 Series in Australia. Nepal ‘A’ defeated ACT by 4 wickets in the match held today at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin, Australia.
Nepal ‘A’ chased down the target of 141 runs set by ACT in 19.2 overs, losing six wickets in the process. Kushal Bhurtel played an excellent innings for Nepal, scoring 61 runs off 47 balls, including five fours and a six. Meanwhile, Pawan Sarraf remained unbeaten on 29 runs. Mayan Yadav scored 21 runs, and Lokesh Bam contributed 12. On the bowling front, ACT’s Jack Kahle took three wickets, while Jeet Mehta claimed two.
Earlier, ACT, having lost the toss and batted first, scored 140 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Dylan Hunter was the top scorer for ACT with 44 runs, while Aans Tiwari and Nick Broes each scored 19 runs. On the bowling front, Nepal’s Kushal Bhurtel claimed three wickets, and Yuvraj Khatri took two; Pawan Sarraf, Bipin Khatri, and Shahab Alam each took one wicket.
This marks Nepal ‘A’s second consecutive victory in the tournament. Previously, in a match held on Monday, Nepal ‘A’ defeated Hobart Hurricanes Academy by 39 runs. Before that, Nepal ‘A’ had lost their opening matches—falling to NT Strikers by 8 wickets and to the Bangladesh ‘A’ team by 9 wickets.
Meanwhile, ACT remains winless in the tournament. In their three previous matches, ACT suffered defeats against Kingsmen (by 6 wickets), Victoria XI (by 8 wickets), and NT Strikers (by 6 wickets).
