NEW YORK:- Speaking at an event held on Friday to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, New York’s Zohran Mamdani criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s stance on immigration and his broader vision for the country.
Although Mamdani did not mention the President by name, he delivered his address while seated at George Washington’s historic desk at City Hall, surrounded by individuals from around the world who had recently become U.S. citizens.
Mayor Mamdani said, “They will tell you that America belongs only to those with the right accent or the right complexion. They insist that the rest of us should simply be grateful for the privilege of being here. How narrow-minded they are! How weak and devoid of originality.”
