Sonam and Upasana starrer ‘Jalaki’ to release on November 20

KATHMANDU:-  ‘Khusma’ director Ashok Thapa Magar’s second directorial film ‘Jalaki’ is set to release after Chhath festival. On Monday, on the occasion of National Paddy Day or Ashadh 15, two posters of the film were released and the release date has been set for November 20. So far, other films have not chosen this date.

Out of the two posters released, one of them shows the film’s lead pair Upasana Singh Thakuri and Sonam Topden in a romantic avatar. The other poster is the exact opposite. That is, Upasana and Sonam are seen in a frustrated and emotional pose. This clearly indicates that the film has made the ups and downs and internal conflicts in their relationship the main theme.

‘Jalaki’ is a word that refers to a stone pillar known as a symbol of faith, memory and love in the Magar community. The film presents a story that encompasses the culture, traditions and emotions of the Magar and Gurung communities by keeping this cultural symbol at the center, said director Magar. According to him, the film has a blend of Magar culture and love.

The film stars Sonam and Upasana along with Sahara Hangma Limbu, Shilpa Maskey, Mao Tse Garung, Buddhi Tamang, Rajani Garung, Usha Khadki, Khadak Bahadur Pun and other actors. The film is produced by Om Gharti Magar, Bir Bahadur Lama, Chandra Bahadur Bhattachan, Betane Magar, Man Bahadur Dhana Magar and Sushmita Budhathoki and the cinematography is by Shailendra D Karki.
