Indian origin Vikram Mubayi found dead in Inyo National Forest

LOS ANGELES:- Officials have confirmed that Vikram Mubayi, a University of California student of Indian origin who went missing while hiking in the ‘Big Pine Lakes’ area of ​​California, has been found dead. According to the *Daily Nexus*, Mubayi’s body was recovered from the Inyo National Forest.

Mubayi, a PhD student in the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCSB, last contacted his family around 8:30 PM on August 1 and shared his GPS location while hiking.

After failing to make further contact, his family reported him missing. Subsequently, a search operation was launched by Inyo County Search and Rescue and the California Highway Patrol, and he was found dead on the evening of August 3.

Local police have not released details regarding the cause of his death, but there are no indications of suspicious activity or foul play. According to his family, Mubayi was born and raised in Hong Kong.
