Indian American owned ‘9 Lakhs Jewelers’ in New Jersey robbed

NEW YORK:-“9 Lakha Jewelers,” a business operated by an Indian-American entrepreneur on Oak Tree Road in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey, was robbed on the night of August 8, 2026. According to the owners, jewelry worth $1 million was stolen during the robbery.

A video of the robbery, captured by the shop’s own surveillance camera, is circulating online. The footage shows individuals carrying large sledgehammers and black plastic bags getting out of a vehicle and rushing into the shop; within a minute or less, they are seen exiting with the bags, getting back into the vehicle, and fleeing the scene.

The looters smashed the glass display cases inside the shop and stuffed the jewelry into their bags; meanwhile, the shop owner was trying to save his life by hiding, while a customer hurriedly fled outside to escape.

New Jersey police have stated that they are investigating the incident, but the robbers involved in the heist have not yet been arrested.
