Indian-American commemorative celebration for ‘America 250’ organized in Washington DC on July 25

LOS ANGELES:- Nearly 3,000 Indian-American elected officials, business executives, physicians, entrepreneurs, religious leaders, diplomats, and community leaders are gathering in Washington DC for the ‘America 250 Indian American Commemorative Celebration,’ organized to mark the United States’ 250th anniversary.

On July 25, hundreds of Indian-Americans from across the country will gather in the nation’s capital for one of the largest celebrations honoring the contributions of the Indian community in the United States.

According to the organizers, the event is being described as a celebration featuring the participation of both major political parties. It will honor not only the country’s 250th anniversary but also the growing role Indian-Americans have played in shaping American society through leadership in business, healthcare, education, public service, technology, and civic life.

Ramesh V. Kapur, founder and president of the U.S.-India Security Council, said, “This is an opportunity for our community to unite not as Republicans or Democrats, but as Americans. America’s 250th anniversary is a chance for all of us—setting aside partisan sentiments—to come together and celebrate the country we proudly call ‘home’.”

The America 250 Indian American Commemorative Celebration includes U.S. Senator Steve Daines of Montana—who will address the participants via video—as well as U.S. House members such as Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois, Shri Thanedar of Michigan, and Ro Khanna of California.

Other attendees at the event include Arjun Modi, Deputy Commissioner of the US Social Security Administration; Raj Shah, former Deputy Chief of Staff to Speaker Mike Johnson and former Principal Deputy Press Secretary to President Donald Trump; former Assistant Secretary for Global Markets at the Department of Commerce and former US, Ashok Pinto, Director General of the Foreign Commercial Service; and Uttam Dhillon, former Acting Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration, former Director of INTERPOL Washington, and former Deputy Legal Counsel to President Trump.

Renowned global humanitarian and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, General Atomics Global Corporation CEO Dr. Vivek Lall, former NASA Administrator Dr. Michael D. Griffin, internationally acclaimed physician Dr. Dattatreyudu Nori, and American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) President Dr. Amit Chakrabarty will also deliver remarks at the event.

Grammy Award-winning singer Falguni “Falu” Shah will perform to make the evening’s celebration even more special, while ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from various countries around the world are expected to attend.

According to the organizers, the aim of this celebration is to highlight the remarkable growth of the Indian-American community and the contributions they have made across virtually every sector of American life.

The event will be held at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, July 25, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

According to the organizers, this event will not only commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States but also celebrate the enduring bond between the nation’s democratic ideals and the contributions of Indian-Americans who have been empowering communities across the country.
