I come here to closely understand Madhes -NC President Thapa

SARLAHI:- Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa clarified that he arrived here to closely study and understand Madhes.

In his address to the voters of Sarlahi constituency no. 4 today, President Thapa said he arrived here to get along the Madhes which he has been hearing of since long.

The newly-elected NC president further said he was excited to see the welcoming gestures of friends of Madhes in several places upon his arrival at the Simara Airport.

Leader Thapa shared that he was informed of the contributions and benevolence shown by Madhes to the Nepali Congress and democracy.

“I will study and learn the language, customs, culture and civilization of Madhes from now onward”, he noted.

Some colleagues suggested me to begin with the speech in local language, he said, “I have come here not to demonstrate a conjuror game. Surely, I will speak up in local language only after learning it completely”.

Sharing that he had raised several issues of Madhes in parliament before, he expressed the commitment to zoom in the issues of Madhes and Madhesi people this time.

Thapa clarified he descended to Madhes with realization that one cannot be completely Nepali without once dedicating oneself to the Madhes.(RSS)
