FNJ’s former President Dahal passes away

KATHMANDU:- Warrior of Nepal’s democratic movement and former President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Homnath Dahal passed away last night. He was 84. 

According to the family sources, former Minister for Agriculture, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Dahal breathed his last at Bir Hospital Kathmandu during treatment after suffering a heart attack.

He had long been afflicting from knee related complications and was receiving treatment at his own home in Maitidevi.

Dahal, born in the then Baruneshwor Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga district, was the editor of the weekly vernacular, Rashtrapukar, the mouthpiece of the Nepali Congress.

He had served as a member of the Nepali Congress Okhaldhunga district and discharged the responsibility of a central member of the then Nepali Congress (Democratic).

His last rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today. He is survived by his wife and two sons. (RSW)
