European and Canadian Jewish communities looking to immigrate to the US due to rising anti-Semitic violence

WASHINGTON:- British, French, Spanish and Canadian Jewish communities have contacted State Department officials seeking the possibility of immigrating to the United States under refugee or other protected status, sources said.

British, French, Spanish and Canadian Jewish communities have contacted State Department officials seeking the possibility of immigrating to the United States, sources said, citing the growing anti-Semitic violence in their countries of residence.

Sources confirmed that members of the British, French, Spanish and Canadian Jewish communities have contacted State Department officials. No decision or response from the State Department has been made public regarding the Jewish community’s request. However, Rabbi Yehuda Kaplun, the Special Envoy and Ambassador at large to combat global Antisemitism, has declined to comment on the matter.
Kaplun said media, “It is the responsibility of governments in those countries to ensure that Jewish communities have the safety and ability to practice their religion free from any form of harm. The US government demands the protection of Jewish communities.”
