Cracked paddy field in Madhesh, even in Monsoon

MAHOTTARI:- Madhesh Province, known as the country’s bank of Paddy production, is facing dry and drought conditions this year, even in the Monsoon.

Paddy planting has been affected due to the unfavourable monsoon in Madhesh Province.

According to the Madhesh Province’s Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, only 47 per cent of the planting has been completed in the Province so far. Currently, Province is facing a shortage of not only water for paddy planting but also drinking water.
