Chance of heavy rain in Koshi, Heat wave risk in the Terai

KATHMANDU:- Currently, monsoon winds are affecting some parts of Koshi Province, while westerly and local winds are affecting other parts of the country.

According to the Hydrology and Meteorology Forecasting Division, it is currently generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country, while it is partially cloudy in other Terai regions. Light rain is occurring in some places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali Provinces.

The division has stated that it will be generally cloudy in the Himalayan and hilly parts of the country and the Terai areas of Koshi Province this afternoon. It will be partly cloudy in the Terai areas of Madhesh Province and Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, while the weather is expected to be mainly clear in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Similarly, there is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some places in the mountainous and hilly parts of Koshi Province and in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces during the afternoon. The division has forecast that there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province.

According to the division, there is a possibility of heat wave in some places in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while there is a possibility of temperature increase in some places in the Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.

Tonight, it will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the Terai areas of Koshi province. It will be partly cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of Madhes and Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the weather is expected to be mainly clear in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight too, there is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi Province and in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. The division has forecast that moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in some places in the Terai of Koshi Province and in one or two places in Madhesh Province. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hilly and Terai of Koshi Province.

The division has urged the general public in areas where there is a possibility of heavy rain, lightning, and heat waves to be vigilant. It has also been requested to stay updated on the division’s weather-related information.
