Cabinet approves Nepal–Israel labour agreement

KATHMANDU:- Nepal has taken a step toward strengthening labour relations with Israel after the Council of Ministers approved a bilateral labour agreement during its meeting on Monday.

The decision was announced by Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Jagdish Kharel following the Cabinet meeting. The agreement aims to formalise and expand employment opportunities for Nepali workers in Israel.

In the same meeting, the Cabinet decided to provide a government grant to the Gen Z Martyrs’ Family Welfare Society to run welfare programmes for families of martyrs. It also approved a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Nepal and Oman.

On the administrative front, Om Bahadur Khadka was promoted to Additional Chief Research Director at the National Investigation Department. Ghanashyam Parajuli was promoted to Deputy Auditor General under the Nepal Audit Service.

The meeting also nominated Kul Prasad Neupane as a member of the management committee responsible for asset management and liability settlement of problematic cooperative institutions.
