DHS condemns rising threats and attacks against federal law enforcement officers

LOS ANGELES:- After a weekend of protesters attacking federal law enforcement officers, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has called on politicians to avoid creating an inflammatory atmosphere regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) law enforcement.

On Thursday, DHS issued a statement saying federal law enforcement officers are facing a more than 1000% increase in attacks against them and that their families are being threatened online.

According to DHS, their families are being harassed. Last September, three women were indicted by a federal grand jury for live-streaming an ICE agent following them to their home and then posting the victim’s home address on Instagram.

Upon arriving at the law enforcement officer’s home, they began shouting “The neighbor is an Ice agent,” “La Maigra lives here,” and “Ice lives on your street and you should know.”

According to a statement released by DHS, in Texas, the wife of an ICE officer received a call saying, “I don’t know how you let your husband work on ICE, and you sleep at night.” F*** you, f*** your family. I hope your kids get deported by accident. How do you sleep? F*** you. “Did you hear what happened to the Nazis after World War II? Because this is going to happen to your family.”

When agents and their families are identified, they receive violent threats and even death threats in their messages. Robert Buckley of Lakeville, Massachusetts, sent this Facebook message to an agent’s wife: “Your husband, Ice Agent, is a f*** and revenge will eventually come your way.”
