EC familiarizes the President on election preparations

KATHMANDU:- The Election Commission (EC) has shared information with President Ram Chandra Paudel about the ongoing preparations for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled to take place on March 5.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari and other Commissioners met the President on Thursday and shared about the EC’s upcoming programmes for holding the elections in a free, fair and fearless manner.

On this occasion, the President was informed about the EC’s discussions with the Prime Minister and other ministers regarding the need for human resources and logistical support for conducting the polls.

Likewise, the assurance received from the government for a reliable security arrangement and the related issues were shared with the President.

According to the EC, the President urged the EC to immediately advance consultations with the political parties and stakeholders to prepare a ground for active participation of all citizens in the election process.

Similarly, President Paudel asked the EC to complete its milestones in time by making a calendar for the assurance of completing the elections in the slated time, the EC shared.
