Link education to skills, entrepreneurship: President Paudel

KATHMANDU:- President Ramchandra Paudel has underlined the need for linking education to knowledge, skills and entrepreneurship.     

In his address to the 70th anniversary function of the St Mary’s Secondary School at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur on Friday, President Paudel viewed, “Education instills decency in citizens, making them competent and patriotic. For it to happen, linking education to knowledge and entrepreneurship is imperative.”

The education linked to entrepreneurship plays a vital role in augmenting productivity and economic activities, he said, adding that knowledge is a key tool to socioeconomic and cultural transformations. It is the education that gives impetus to the accountability and national welfare, according to him.

The Head of the State reminded that the political change in the country ensured significant development in the fronts of education, health, communications and IT, road infrastructure, hydropower and rural development. Democratic system ensures not only freedom but also development, trust and progress, the President explained.

President Paudel viewed, “Present system has envisioned the correction, review and optimum ulitization of the opportunities. We must give up dissent, disappointment and grudges and continue aspiring for trust and progress.” He wished the education system prepared competent, qualified and industrial workforce in the country. Paudel drew the attention of policy makers, government and educational institutes to concentrate to this end.

Quality education makes one’s life ideal, instilling feeling of modesty, justice, propriety, humanity, love and compassion, according to him.(RSS)
