Narayan Limbu elected NRNA Malaysia president

KUALA LUMPUR:- The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has formed a new working committee under the leadership of Indra Narayan Limbu.

A meeting held in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Sunday elected a new working committee headed by Indra Narayan Limbu.

During the formation of the committee in Malaysia, Nepali Congress Spokes Person Prakash Sharan Mahat, along with Chairman Mahesh Shrestha, Vice Chairman Khagendra Neupane, and others were present. Similarly, Nepali Ambassador to Malaysia Netra Prasad Timilsina was also present.

At the event, Nepali Congress spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat mentioned that the Nepali diaspora has made a significant contribution to the development of Nepal.

He said that collective initiatives are needed to solve the problems of Nepalis living abroad.

Similarly, Nepali Ambassador to Malaysia Dr. Netra Prasad Timalsina stressed the need for unity within the NRNA Malaysia and said that they should not get involved in factionalism, personal interests, and financial disputes.

Ambassador Timilsina had exposed the pitiful condition of Nepali workers in Malaysia, revealing statistics showing that around 40 workers die every month.

He said that transparency and cooperation are necessary to resolve problems such as labor exploitation, wages below the minimum wage, long working hours, and visa trade.

Similarly, NRNA President Mahesh Shrestha claimed that the committee led by him is legitimate as per the decisions of the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He put forward a concrete action plan to protect labor rights, promote investment, and improve foreign employment, breaking down the illusion of legality.

Vice President Khagendra Neupane stated that unity within NCC Malaysia is indispensable and urged everyone to put aside their differences and focus on collective efforts.
