Family members agree to receive body of Chaudhary killed in Kailali jail clash

KANCHANPUR:- Family members of Bharat Chaudhary, 36, of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-4,  who was killed in the clash between inmates in Kailali jail, have agreed to receive the body.

Family members of the deceased Chaudhary received the body today after the Chief District Officer assured to take the initiative to hear the demands of the families, informed the administrative officer, Shiva Raj Joshi. “The provincial government has already assured to address some demands of Chaudhary’s family.

They agreed to receive the body after CDO committed to talk to the concerned agency regarding the demand of the family for free education for the children of the deceased”, it is shared. It is worth noting that the family members did not agree to receive the body until this morning, putting forth two demands – action against the guilty and proper compensation from the relevant authority.

The Sudurpaschim province government announced on Sunday evening that it would provide Rs 500,000 to the family of the deceased Chaudhary. Chaudhary, who was injured during a clash in the jail on Friday evening, died during treatment. The other 45 injured are being treated at the Seti Provincial Hospital.

Critically injured, Karna Salami Magar and Ayush Bhatta are undergoing treatment in Kathmandu. Another injured, Kalpes Bista, who was receiving treatment in Dhangadhi, has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment, informed Jalandar Bhusal of the prison section.

A committee has been formed under the leadership of Assistant Chief District Officer Kiran Joshi to investigate the incident.
