Khagendra Sunar tries to escape, claiming that pornographic video was made by AI
KATHMANDU:- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Khagendra Sunar has claimed that the audio recording—in which he is heard issuing death threats, using abusive language, and attempting to extort money from a former State Minister of Bagmati Province—was generated using AI.
Following the circulation of the shocking audio clip on social media since Monday afternoon, the government and the RSP have faced mounting pressure from all quarters to take action against him. The RSP has barred Sunar from participating in public events until the matter is resolved.
After the RSP Disciplinary Commission issued a letter requiring Sunar to submit a written response within 24 hours, he recorded a video from an undisclosed location in the Terai and claimed via social media that the woman in the video was fictional and AI-generated.
The actual audio recordings featuring Sunar are, in many places, unlistenable without muting, beeping, or editing; they contain authentic Nepali profanity and death threats. Yet, AI does not issue death threats nor endorse violence against women. Despite this, Sunar has confidently dismissed the recordings as fake and AI-generated.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Jwala Sangraula, who had previously made comments described as obscene and unfit to be heard, has now changed her stance. However, RSP General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya and Whip Prakash Chandra Pariyar have already stated that Sunar cannot be forgiven.
